Bassist Oteil Burbridge hasn't left the Allman Brothers to join the Zac Brown Band. The rocker admits in a website post that it was "an amazing experience" to work with the country group, and he hopes to team up with them again in the future.
Oteil explains that the start of 2014, which marks the Allman Brothers Band's 45 anniversary, is a reminder to him of just how significant the group has been to his "musical life." He adds that he's "really grateful and proud to be such a big part of the ABB history," and they "ain't done yet!"
And Burbridge expects to be on hand with the Allman Brothers for their upcoming Beacon Theater residency. The group just announced dates for the annual New York City event, which includes ten shows from March 7th through the 22nd.
Gregg Allman sparked questions about Burbridge's status in the Allman Brothers in discussing the Beacon run with "Rolling Stone." He told the magazine he wasn't sure if the bassist would be playing the shows with the band, because "Oteil's not with us anymore...He's gone with Zac Brown."
