On Saturday, I took a daytrip down to Houston, to go to a couple of breweries. The convenient thing about it, as that they are within walking distance of eachother.
The 1st one I hit was "Walking Stick"
They had walking sticks for tap handles
I also liked that they put their sampler on a piece of wood
As for the beer, most of them weren't for me. I'm not a big fan of IPA's, or hoppy beers. OR Saisons...which is mostly what they had.
I did like the atmosphere. The patio outside, had tables with shade, and was dog friendly. They also had a food truck, where I was able to grab lunch.
The other brewery I hit, which is just 100 yards down the road, was Great Heights
They had more beers that I would like
I got a sampler of the Kolsch, the Hefe, The Mexican Lager and the South Island.
I liked that they put the sampler in a baking tray. You write what you want on a piece of paper, and the pan is labeled with the number you put for your beer. You could get up to 6, but I chose to get only 4.
My favorite beer was the My Maria Mexican Lager. Quite tasty.
A fun little day trip. And not too bad to get to. Both breweries are about a mile of the North part of 610.
