Unfortunately today marks the 31st anniversary of Stevie Ray Vaughan's tragic death.
Stevie Ray Vaughan had just played a concert at The Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy Wisconsin. At the time, there was only 1 road to the venue, so to avoid the long lines, most artist take helicopters to the airport. That day Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as 3 of Eric Clapton's entourage. were in a helicopter that was flying in foggy conditions, and crashed into a ski hill. The coroner reports say he died instantly.
He was just 35 years old. I wonder what music we didn't get, because of his tragic death.
The S.R.V. statute is in Austin. He's buried in Dallas.
