K.C.'s Daytrip to Katy

On Saturday, my friends and I took a daytrip to Katy for some fun. We started off by having lunch at Roegels BBQ

The Pork Belly burnt ends were fantastic! The Sausage was good, while the Brisket was just ok. I've had really good brisket on other BBQ Daytrips, so the bar has been set high for me.

After all that eating, we decided to go to a place called HomerRun Dugout. I'd describe it as like a Top golf, but for baseball/softball.

A ball pops up and you swing and hit a ball into a screen, and it calculates what would happen.

The balls were about the size of sotballs, but were more like hard nerfballs, so they wouldn't hurt if you got hit by one. The cool thing about the place, is you could choose any MLB stadium to hit in.

We chose, Houston, Detroit, Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and Cleveland (my buddy chose that one).

They calculate velocity and distance, and estimate if you would get a single, double, triple or homerun. They also had 3 levels of difficulty, so it could be easy to hit a homerun.

After the fun there, we took a trip to a brewery that I had never been to before

They had some good looking cans

I couldn't figure out what beers they had before we went (their website is horrible). And it turns out, they had 1 lager (a pale lager at that) a bunch of IPAs and a bunch of Sours and a couple of stouts.

Had I known, I might not have gone there. I first tried an imperial stout with Maple and Hazlenut....which was not my favorite. But sitting there looking at the description of some of the sours, I decided to try one. (Note I'm not a fan of sours). Turns out, they weren't that SOUR. My Faccial expression is because I generally don't like anything green.

That beer, "Can O Gold" had flavors of Pineapple, Banana, Passion Fruit and Blue Raspberry.

It was good, so I got another one that had Strawberry, Raspberry and Dragon Fruit.

I was quite surprised at the sours. They tasted more like smoothies than beer.

All and all it was fun daytrip out of town.

Thanks for checking on my blog.

K.C.ya!
