On Saturday, I had the opportunity to head out to the Troubadour festival, and eat a bunch of tasty BBQ.
They had 30 places from all over Texas, so it was tough to choose which one to eat? I'm mean who could eat all 30?
Very nice sized samples from the BBQ joints.....check out Meat Church's display
One of the more interesting items was a "Texas Twinkie"
THat was from Hutchins BBQ, and it's a large jalapeño stuffed with brisket & cream cheese and wrapped in premium thick cut bacon. Yum!!!
My favorite tasting was from Teddys BBQ
It was so good, I went back from seconds. I was thinking about doing a road trip to their location, but unfortunately they are 6 hours away in McCallen. Oh well...I'll be on the lookout for Picanha from now on.
Meat Church ran out of BBQ but then started preparing a dessert....a Reeces Peanut Butter Cup Smore! SMoked in the cooker
That was excellent....and all my stomach could handle.
It was hot on Saturday, so I didn't stay all day for the live music, but I liked what I heard. Jacob Stelly did a version of The Band's "The Weight" which was good.
He also commented on how cool it was to have a stage facing Kyle Field
Yeah...it was a great view.
K.C.-ya!
