Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd recently showcased a $50,000 gold chain seized from an alleged drug dealer during a press conference on Friday (August 22). The jewelry was taken as part of a yearlong investigation, "Operation Capital City Crack Down," which resulted in 32 arrests and a murder indictment in Bartow, Florida. Sheriff Judd, known for his direct approach, wore the chain to emphasize the deadly consequences of drug trafficking, particularly highlighting the overdose death of 65-year-old Irene Anderson. Anderson died after purchasing cocaine from a member of the drug network.

The investigation, which began in August 2024, involved multiple agencies, including the Polk County Sheriff's Office's Tactical Drug Unit and the U.S. Border Patrol. Law enforcement conducted six wire intercepts and eight search warrants, uncovering $50,000 worth of jewelry and seizing illegal drugs valued at $150,000. Sheriff Judd identified Nathaniel "Nate" Donald as the leader of the drug network. A key member, Bryan "B" Myrick, faces numerous charges, including conspiracy to sell cocaine and trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl, and MDMA.

Sheriff Judd stated, "They're a menace to society. They've got to stay in prison, or people die," highlighting the dangers of drug trafficking.
