Downtown Bryan will kick off the holiday season at its annual Lights On! ceremony on Friday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. in Gloria Sale Park (Main and 28th St). Following music from the Salvation Army band, Bryan mayor Andrew Nelson and special guest Santa Claus will flip the switch to illuminate Christmas trees which anchor the north and south ends of downtown, along with thousands of lights along Main and Bryan streets. Homemade cookies and hot chocolate will be served at the Palace Theater. Bounce houses, a children's craft area and visits with Santa will take place on 26th St. adjacent to the Palace. KBTX-TV's Shel Winkley will emcee a program on the Palace stage which will include the SFA school orchestra and local singer Katye Hamlin leading a Christmas sing-a-long.Lights On!
