The upcoming Ozzy Osbourne episode of A&E's award-winning Biography series will premiere on the network September 7 at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
Biography: The Nine Lives Of Ozzy Osbourne was announced this past winter, just weeks ahead of the release of Ozzy's 12th solo album, Ordinary Man. Ozzy was supposed to attend a screening of the film at the SXSW Film Festival in March, but he canceled the appearance due to concerns over the novel coronavirus.
A new trailer for the documentary finds Ozzy reflecting on the realizations of his short-lived early-'90s retirement. You can watch it in the video player above.
Just the trials of the last two years for the Prince of Darkness seem worthy of a documentary — from multiple spells in the hospital with various maladies, to his Parkinson's diagnosis to his triumphant new album — but the Biography film endeavors to cover Ozzy's life from childhood to his 70th birthday.
The documentary finds Ozzy reflecting on his impoverished childhood in Birmingham, England, his rise to renown with Black Sabbath, his struggles with addiction, his solo success, his various scandals along the way and his inherent need to keep making music.
The Nine Lives Of Ozzy Osbourne also reportedly includes never-before-seen interviews concerning his recent Parkinson's diagnosis.
One of the film's executive producers is Ozzy's son, Jack Osbourne, who covered his dad in a 2011 documentary, God Bless Ozzy Osbourne.
Jack, who excels at putting his iconic dad on television, is also co-hosting an upcoming Travel Channel series, The Osbournes Want To Believe, with his parents Ozzy and Sharon. The show premieres on August 2.
