Elton John To Stream Classic MSG Concert Friday Afternoon For Free

With his 'Farewell, Yellow Brick Road' tour on hold, Elton John is celebrating his incredible career and entertaining his fans with his Classic Concert Series on YouTube.

All summer, the Rocketman has been streaming select live shows in their entirety for free. Fans are encouraged to donate each week to the COVID-19 Fund for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

This week's Classic Concert is Elton's gig from October 20, 2000, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

In a message Thursday morning, Elton called the show "one of the most memorable concerts of my career, at one of my favorite venues, with a cast of incredible guests."

The Garden has long been one of Elton's favorite places to perform, and he's shown his love of the World's Most Famous Arena by performing there some 70 times in 45 years.

What made this concert from 2000 stand out in particular is more than likely the incredible casts of guests who joined Elton for duets, including Billy Joel, Mary J. Blige, Ronan Keating, Bryan Adams, Anastacia and Kiki Dee.

The show will premiere on YouTube at 3 p.m. Eastern time, in an attempt to give fans from the west coast to the U.K. a chance to enjoy it during waking hours. Once the premiere concludes, the show will be available to rewatch for seven days.
