Eddie Vedder Rocks Out To 'Corduroy' & 'I Am A Patriot' At 'VAX Live'

Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder delivered a rockin’ set at "VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.”

Vedder shredded the stage during Saturday’s broadcast (May 8) of Global Citizen’s concert event, where the rocker treated vaccinated frontline workers and fans alike to live performances of his band’s 1994 smash “Corduroy” and “I Am a Patriot.”

Vedder was joined by former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer during the showcase, which was performed live at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

“This is a feeling we haven’t had for quite some time. Feels pretty good,” Vedder said mid-way through his concert. “If you’re in government, if you’re a world leader and you have an excess of vaccines, please don’t stockpile. Make it available for the countries that need it. Please distribute it ASAP.”

“And if you’re a drug company, we thank you for your inventions. If you want history to look back … at you as heroes, it’d be great if you could distribute this vaccine and cost. … That’s how we will survive and conquer this [thing].”

Hosted by Selena Gomez, Global Citizen’s concert event filled 27,000 seats at the 70,000-seat venue, and among the concertgoers in the crowd were vaccinated essential and frontline healthcare workers who have spent the past year helping to combat the spread of COVID-19 in America.

Vedder is one of the many musical acts that delivered live performances, in addition to Jennifer Lopez, J Balvin, Foo Fighters, H.E.R., and Brian Johnson.

"VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World" will be filmed at So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles, and aired across iHeartMedia radio stations and on the iHeartRadio app, as well as on YouTube and major networks including ABC, CBS, and FOX on Saturday, May 8th at 8 p.m. ET.
