Miami Dolphins wide receiver Grant Dubose was stretchered off the field after a scary hit during Sunday's (December 15) game against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.
Dubose was injured on his lone catch of the game, a reception marked two yards behind the line of scrimmage. The wide receiver was transported to a local Houston hospital for a head injury but reported to be in stable condition, according to the Dolphins.
"Dolphins WR Grant DuBose has been ruled out with a head injury. He is in stable condition and being taken to a local hospital for further evaluation," the team wrote on its X account.
The game was delayed for 12 minutes as Dubose was attended to on the ground, according to NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson. The wide receiver had his jersey cut off and his face mask unscrewed, according to FOX 26 Houston's Will Kunkel, who shared a video of Dubose being stretchered off the field from the NRG Stadium press box on his X account.
"Terrifying moment as Grant DuBose is taken off the field on a stretcher. His jersey was cut off and face mask was unscrewed while lying on the field. Pray for Grant and his family," Kunkel wrote.
Dubose, 23, was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins in August and recorded one receptions for 13 yards in two appearances prior to Sunday's game. The former University of North Carolina at Charlotte standout was selected by the Green Bay Packers at No. 256 overall in the seventh-round of the 2023 NFL Draft after being selected as a Second-team All-Conference USA player in 2022.
