Big Rig calls himself a radio-media pig who lives it 24/7, and he means it. At age 10 he built his own pirate radio transmitter, then moved on to his high school station and landed an on-air job right after graduation. That was 1986, and he hasn’t slowed down since, working every shift from graveyard to morning drive across rock, classic rock, alternative, classic hits, and Top 40. He’s sat down with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, broadcast live through hurricanes to help listeners ride out the storms, and earned a spot in his high school’s hall of fame in 2024. His on-air rules are simple: no drama, lots of fun, and great music.

When he’s off the mic, this Southern Indiana native might be floating overhead, because Big Rig flies hot air balloons. He’s also an outdoorsman and a DIY home-project guy. Home is Michelle, Zander, and two Maine Coon cats named Rocky and Pepper. He’s a Metallica, Shinedown, and Journey fan with a soft spot for anything from the ’80s, and his first concert was REO Speedwagon. Favorite food? Bacon, obviously. His goal every time he’s on: help you have the best day.
