Maiden A No Show For The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

After waiting years past their year of eligibility, Iron Maiden finally will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but unlike some of their contemporaries, Maiden will not be attending.

In a statement from their manager, Rod Smallwood, the band laid out the reason for passing on the ceremony,

"As the most observant have already noticed, the band will be on tour in Australia around the November date of the Induction ceremony for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles,” Smallwood said. "In accepting, Iron Maiden made it very clear to the R&R HoF that the fans always come first and that the shows will of course go on."

Now to be fair, this does not mean that no one from Maiden will be there, just the band that is currently touring, which means that former members like Nicko McBrain or family of Clive Burr and Paul Di’Anno could still attend. Iron Maiden will be in Australia on Nov. 13 and Nov. 15, to play their shows which bookends the Rock Hall ceremony making it impossible to attend.

"We would like to assure all our fans in Australasia that the Australian and New Zealand dates will remain unaffected," Smallwood added, "and we look forward to bringing the Run For Your Lives Tour to them on the penultimate stop of our 50th anniversary celebrations."
