Daytrip to a Brewery & a Concert

On Saturday, I had tickets to the Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience/Cheap Trick/Foreigner show down in the Woodlands.

My friend and I decided to make a day of it.  So we went to a brewery in Houston.  I had never heard of it until a week ago.

The Spindletap Brewery. (North east Houston)

Unfortunately, they were out of several of their beers, so they didn't sell samplers.  So I had to buy the 3 pints & a glass for $15.   That's about 5 dollars more than most other places.

The beers I had were good.  I liked the Honey Hole ESB the best.

After the brewery, we stopped at Carraba's for a bite to eat before heading to the Woodlands for the concert.

I thought it was strange they only had 1 merchandise booth, but I guess that's less people to hire to sell the OVERPRICED shirts.  $45 for a t-shirt...really?

Anyway...Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience put on a good show.

A Great set-list

Rock & Roll, Black Dog, Ramble On, Whole lotta Love and more. I really liked their version of "Over the Hills & Far Away"

After JB set, I decided to get a beer and buy a Cheap Trick Koozie from the Merch booth.   Unfortunately the C Trick koozies were sold out....likely because they were the cheapest thing at the Merch Booth ($5)

Cheap Trick started their set with some of their newer songs, but finished strong!

(I'm a big fan of the "Beatles" Guitar they used during one of the songs)

They finished with The Flame, I want you to want me, Dream Police & Surrender.

Save their best for last, when they know everyone's gonna be in their seats.

Then Foreigner came on, and they ROCKED the House! They played 13 songs, all songs I have played on the radio at one time or another.

They even asked the audience to "Vote" for a which song they were gonna play....   Blue Morning Blue Day beat out Headnocker.

One of the highlights for me, was Juke box Hero.

What surprised me, was when the lead singer came out to the middle of the front section and sang from a pole ABOVE the crowd.

It was an awesome day.

K.C.-ya!
