My memories of Tom Petty

Petty Vegas

Throughout the show this morning, I'm playing Double shots of Tom Petty in memory of the rocker who passed away last night at the age of 66.

His death was quite the shock to me.  He had just finished his concert tour.  I had wanted to go to the show over at the woodlands, but it was on a weekday, and that would make me get about 3 hours of sleep before I had to go to work, so I didn't go....

Thankfully, I did get to see tom petty in my lifetime.  At the time, I was going to a lot of concerts, and I would write down on a notepad all the songs each artist played in concert.  At the Tom Petty concert, he performed the most number of songs I had seen at once concert.  He didn't talk much between songs, just kept going and going....it was awesome.

Another Tom Petty memory for me, is recording songs off the radio.   Back in the day, i didn't have the money to buy all the music I wanted, so I would record songs off the radio.  I remember recording 2 songs off the radio....Pink Floyds "Another brick in the wall" and Tom Petty's "Refugee".

Later in life, I bough the cd, so Tom got his money.

Thankfully Tom Petty's music will live on.

R.I.P.
