Lynyrd Skynyrd Announces Farewell Tour

Lynyrd Skynyrd announced their Farewell tour yesterday.  There are 2 dates in Texas, and they're early in the tour (3rd & 4th date).

May 11 up in Dallas, and May 12 at the Woodlands.

Skynyrd also announced that they will have various special guests on their tour.  They include, Bad Company, Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr. and more!

They have NOT announced WHO will be at the Texas shows yet.  Note the Texas dates go on sale Friday Feb. 2nd at www.LiveNation.com

I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd back in the day in the Woodlands.  I remember going down their in my small Honda Civic with 3 friends (4 people into the small car).  We partied all day long, and I was feeling the effects of all the partying, so during "FreeBird" I sat down to enjoy the show, while most were standing.

Well, there was a drunk lady a few seats down who kept yelling at me to stand up because this was "FREEBIRD".  Sometimes when I go to concerts, I like to sit down and close my eyes and LISTEN Closely to the music. (not get distracted by flashbulbs, the dancing, or what the crowd is doing).

I eventually stood up to the woman's delight.

Lynyrd Skynyrd put on a great show that night, and if you haven't seen them yet, I'd recommend you catch this tour.

Rockers have been known to do SEVERAL farewell tours (ie rolling stones), but this seems like it'll be it for a lengthy tour.

K.C.-ya!
