On Saturday night, i went to the free concert at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater featuring a couple of classic rock cover bands
First up was "Cold as Ice" a Foreigner cover band. They performed all the songs I wanted to hear...."cold as ice", "Juke box Hero" "Hot Blooded" and more. They had a good lead singer, which a made it a fun show.
Next up was "Infinite Journey"....a Journey cover band
They sounded better than the Foreigner cover band, but their choice of song order was interesting....they started with several upbeat Journey songs....but then played 5-6 ballads in a row....I had wondered if a prom had broken out.
Thankfully, they finished the show strong with Lovin touchin Squeezin....and of course "Don't Stop believin"
In fact, during "Don't Stop Believin'", the guitarists guitar started flashing!
Sorry for the blurry picture, but that's the best my phone could do.
The light would strobe up and down his guitar face....that was REALLY cool, and surprising from a tribute band.
They finished the show with a rockin' version of Prince's "Let's go Crazy"
All and all a fun night at a free concert!
Thanks to the City of College Station for putting them on!
