I recently picked up a bottle of "Blackened". It's a bottle of whiskey that the band collaborated with a distillery to make. Note: if you want to find a bottle, I saw it at Specs
I had read last week that they were going to release a bottle that was aged in barrels, while listening to their "S&M2" concert.
I looked it up, and the BATCH I got was NOT one aged with the S&M 2 concert,(batch 106), but Batch 97.
What I did find, is that it was aged by a Metallica playlist created by Robert Trufillo.
It includes, ONE, EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, CYANIDE, THE THING THAT SHOULD NOT BE, RIDE THE LIGHTNING< NO REMORSE, FADE TO BLACK and BROKEN BEAT & SCARRED.
I like the back of the label, where it says "Born in Cask, Forged by Sound"
As for the taste.....unfortunately I thought it was just ok. I don't know if I had higher expectations, but I was expected something smoother.....maybe I shouldn't have.
Anyway...nice to try it.
