K.C. Saw "Becoming Led Zeppelin" over the weekend

Over the weekend, I saw the Led Zeppelin Documentary "Becoming Led Zeppelin"

If you're a Led Zeppelin fan like me, it's a must see! I really enjoyed the documentary. Despite being big Zeppelin fan, I learned things I didn't know, and was reminded of things I forgot.

The documentary is only about the formation of the band, and the release of the first 2 albums, so don't expect to see info about the debauchery that took place after they made it big...this was about HOW they made it big.

They use interviews and information to give you backgrounds on each of the 4 members of Led Zeppelin before they joined the band. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were session musicians, working 7 days a week...and actually BOTH worked on the them to "Gold Finger"

Robert Plant, left is parents house to pursue his musical career, and was homeless at times.

I really enjoyed seeing the rise of the band, from recording their 1st album (which they did on their own, BEFORE they went to record labels), then touring and recording the 2nd album for a year. They showed footage of an early show in England, where the audience looked bored, and some kids had their hands over their ears....1 year later, they're playing The Royal Albert Hall to a packed house of screaming fans!

If you're looking for it locally, it's playing a Premiere Cinemas in Bryan, but only a handful of shows each day, and likely not very long. (The theater I saw it in had just 4 rows of seating)

K.C.-ya!
