The microchip company Save This Life Microchips, which hundreds of veterinary hospitals have used for years, has suddenly and without notice shut down.
If your pet has a Save This Life Microchip, the issue for you as a pet owner, is that they have unlinked their database from the national registries.
What this means is: Currently - if your pet were to become lost, there is no way for any shelter or veterinary hospital to find your information.
You must register your pet's microchip with a new company. This ONLY applies to you if you have a Save This Life Microchip.
How can I tell if I have a Save This Life Microchip? Input your pets’ microchip number into the AAHA Microchip Registry Lookup here: https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-search/
